EMDRIA Approved Basic Level Training in EMDR.  Participants will learn EMDR’s 8 phase approach through teaching and practicum.  Level 1 and 2, along with 10 hours of consultation are needed in order to complete the EMDRIA requirements for basic level training.  This training is for all clinicians regardless of populations and ages working with.

Participants must complete the entire EMDR training course and 10 hours of group consultation within 24 months (2 years) from their initial start date. Please consider this deadline when registering for the training.

Elizabeth Miranda, LCMFT has been practicing in the Kansas City area since 2005.  She worked at a non-profit agency for nearly 10 years before launching a private practice in Leawood, KS nearly 8 years ago.  She has treated severe trauma in all ages, including couples and young children birth to 3.   She initially trained in EMDR under Dr. Robbie Adler-Tapia, who originally wrote and researched the protocol on implementing EMDR with children.  Elizabeth works with both children and adults, and incorporates EMDR into all aspects of her practice….including work with couples!  She has taught advanced courses in both Play Therapy and EMDR, including how to implement EMDR with play therapy, as well as how to implement EMDR with couples and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.  She is also an Approved Supervisor with AAMFT, and enjoys providing advanced consultation to therapists in all phases of their EMDR training.  Because of the diversity of her practice, case examples will be utilized throughout the training from both a child and adult perspective, and include video demonstrations of her work.

Frequently Asked Questions

YES!  ALL EMDRIA approved basic level trainings teach you to utilize EMDR.  Period. It is for all clinicians to learn to integrate the EMDR process into your therapy practice, regardless of the population you work with. On the last day of the work shop, special populations are reviewed including children, adults, couples, and other special populations.  All Facilitators on our training team have worked with both children and adults, so can guide your learning process and help you implement it with your clients.

EMDRIA requires both level 1 and level 2, along with 10 hours of consultation in order to receive a certificate stating your are Basic Level Trained and can utilize EMDR with clients.  This is NOT certification. Certification is a separate process that you can pursue after basic level training and involves and additional 20 hours of consultation as well as advanced trainings beyond level 1 and 2. When looking for a basic level training, be sure to explore what is included in the cost.  Our training includes BOTH weekends, as well as the 10 hours of consultation required.  After weekend 1 and again after weekend 2, you will have 10 hours of consultation to support your efforts in integrating EMDR into your practice.  Many other trainings do NOT include the cost of consultation, which can cost anywhere from $150 to $250 per hour depending on the consultant.
